New York to see Tim Burton!

Thu Nov 19, 2009, 1:14 PM
So as the title implies, I went to New York to go and see Tim Burton. I purchased a book from the place so he could sign it. I also brought my small sketchbook so he could take a look at it. While I was there, there were two types of people in line; film buffs and emos who have only seen the nightmare before christmas!

Overall it went GREAT! Not only did he go through my sketchbook and give me good criticism, I also asked him a question that has been in my mind for years... and that was what he did for the movie the fox and the hound! He was uncredited, so the internet never specified his role in the making of the last film supervised by 2 of the 9 old men. He abides and answered my question! Im not telling what he told me!!!

but then i got a sneak peak at his exhibit! Definitely see it if your a cartoon buff, it has everything! His early character studies, pencil tests, sets and figurines from all his stopmotion expeditions (from Vincent to Corpse Bride) and not to mention the highlight of my viewings... his sketch of the JOKER (while he made Batman)!!! What I was displeased though was his concept of Superman for the movie he never made (It had propulsion boots and he definitely wasn't as buffed as I wanted him to be). But all and all a great man and animator. So if you have a membership like me or willing to spend almost 20 bucks in New York, then go and see that awesome exhibit!
